by Sarah Keen

About:

Knitted Farm Friends is an adorable collection of farm animals bursting with character, complete with clothes and accessories.

Needles at the ready for the latest book from talented knitting designer Sarah Keen.  Her detailed techniques, abbreviations and knitting conversions will allow you to create with confidence.

  • 20 easy-to-follow knitting patterns, suitable for all abilities
  • Comprehensive illustrated techniques section
  • Colorful gallery showcasing each animal

Perfect as a special giftfor a child, animal lover or simply to add to your own personal collection.  Projects include: hen, rooster, pheasant, goose, turkey and bee.

In my opinion:

This book has 20 knitted patterns for farm animals including a pig, cow, ewe, ram, rooster, hen, pony, donkey, dog, cat, rabbit, billy goat, fox, alpaca, highland bull, goose, rat, turkey, bee, and pheasant. Each animal includes information you'll need such as materials, finished size, and tension. Each animal is detailed perfectly. You will learn how to knit a body, head, nose, legs, arms, and clothes. I thought the cow was adorable especially the skirt. Most of the animals had dungarees or a skirt. Also included were the techniques section where you learn the basics of knitting. Overall, this book was well done and I look forward to testing a few of the animal patterns out.

The second book you should check out this summer when you are feeling crafty is...

In my opinion:

This book was very similar to the 10,000 Knitted Hats by Jo Allport. I love that GMC Publications worked with Emma Varnam to bring us this book. If you haven't checked out her other work, be sure to on Instagram @emmavarnam. I love that each book allows one to create their own perfect hat, whether it be crochet or knitting. I prefer knitting but will have the chance to relearn crochet through a class that my friend is hosting. This book was so creative and the illustrations/photos were beautiful. It also included Crochet techniques, finishing touches, and abbreviations/conversions. It is definitely a fun mix and match type craft book that everyone will love.

Disclaimer: I received one or more of the products or services for free in the hope that I would mention them on my blog and offer an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
