We're Going on a Bear Hunt DVD + book

Arlington, Va. – December 20, 2017 – This February, Public Media Distribution, LLC, will release the animated version of the children’s book “WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT” on DVD. Based on the bestselling bedtime story book written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, which has sold over 11 million copies globally, the film follows siblings Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max, the baby, and Rufus the dog,  who decide one day to go on an adventure through whirling snowstorms, oozing mud, and dark forests in search of bears!

Featuring the voices of Olivia Colman (The Night Manager, Broadchurch), Pam Ferris (Matilda, Call The Midwife), and Mark Williams (Harry Potter), this animated story is filled with stunning visuals sure to enchant viewers along with its story of perseverance, optimism, and love of nature.

“WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT” ($9.99 SRP) will be available on DVD February 13, 2018 and has a run time of approximately 25 minutes.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt DVD was fantastic! I appreciated the length (25 minutes) of the DVD. It wasn't too long and it didn't feel too short. It was just right to capture the bestselling children's book by Michael Rosen. The characters were sweet children who wanted an adventure. The earth is such an amazing place and we can go on so many adventures to appreciate its beauty. I loved flipping through the Adventure Field Guide as well. It was filled with ideas, field facts, safety tips, field activities, recipes and more. There were also a variety of sections including High in the Sky, Down in the Ground, Father Afield, Tiny Plants and Tall Trees, Incredible Creepy-crawlies, Extraordinary Creatures, Keeping on Track and the Big, Wide World. My favorite parts were the Bear Hunt in the sky, yummy baked apple recipe, and some of the field facts were incredibly interesting like, "The poop of cave-dwelling bats is called guano. It is an excellent fertilizer for plants, and people even pay for it. Wow! Overall, I was impressed with the DVD as well as the field book. I will definitely be bringing the book on many of our adventures.
