Hey everyone! I have an amazing book that I must share with all of you. And I'm surprised it hasn't become the next Twilight. It has nothing to do with Vampires, thank goodness, but it does have characters that I relate to. Believe me when I tell you it is a must read. But, first read Og (Book 1) and then you will have to read Rahab (Book 2). I've heard from a reliable source that Book 3 will be released in October-ish so I'm counting down the days till I get my hands on it. But, for now....check out my review below.

Book two in the Conquest of Canaan series, Rahab continues the story of three friends struggling through the wartorn land of Canaan under the command of military genius, Joshua. Duty soon collides with obligations of the heart. Love is sometimes more treacherous than a battlefield.

Brittany is a professional cosmetologist and volunteer for the Addiction Recovery Program, which she also travels for locally to give presentations on recovering from addiction. She works for a local publishing company evaluating manuscripts and hopes to refine her editing skills. She is married with two children and enjoys entertaining as well as being entertained. Writing is a passion of hers, and so is music. She hopes to one day complete a film score.

I feel like I want to shout from the rooftops and say how excited I was reading the Conquest of Canaan: Rahab. It was FANTASTIC and I want everyone to know how much I loved it! From the beginning to the end I had a lot of questions and comments and now that I'm finished I ask how long do I have to wait till Book 3? Oh, thats right...October-ish. Ah man! Brittany Shannon is a remarkably talented author of Og and Rahab. And I'm not just saying that for brownie points. It is rare for me to find an author that can take all of my distractions away. I have a hard time concentrating on one task but Brittany allowed me to sink right into her story. Obviously I couldn't read it in one sitting because I have three kids but if I was single, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have a problem finishing in a day or two. It was THAT GOOD! The Conquest of Canaan: Rahab started off right where Book 1: Og ended. I loved that because it felt like a smooth transition. So, of course I loved the beginning of the book because the main characters, Travin and Kaya were romantically involved but not in a sappy yucky way. I loved that throughout the story, their relationship wasn't normal. It was rocky at times but they were able to deal with it like grownups and move on. I also noticed a change in Travin's character. He was more protective over Kaya. They do part ways after their romantic rendezvous and Kaya goes on her own adventure away from her friends. She was captured by her enemy but she was able to do what she could to get out of the circumstance and find her way back. I won't go into a lot of detail because you must read it to find out what really happened. Were there other love interests? What about Westin and Rajmund? What impact will they have over Kaya? Overall, Kaya's strong character drew me in. I loved reading about a woman who can conquer anything. And toward the end of the story, I learned about Rahab. She finally made her appearance and Kaya developed a close relationship with her. I still don't quite understand why the book was named after Rahab but we get a glimpse into her character as she was the harlot who hid the spies at Jerocho. I probably missed something and will need to re-read the book again to find out. But, that is okay with me as I wait for Brittany's last book of the Conquest of Canaan series. I definitely recommend anything Brittany writes and I've heard through the grapevine that another series is underway. Wahoo!
