Happy General Conference week! In 2014, my sisters and I decided to write a book specifically about how to make Conference fun for the entire family. Here is the introduction of our ebook:
We wrote this book to share general conference ideas for families. As we researched the things we do with our own children, we discovered that many of our ideas stemmed from our early years of being raised by wonderful parents. We remember the first time we watched general conference on our brand new television set. We ate our mom’s special conference cake. Our parents asked us to dress up in church clothes to stay reverent. At the time, we didn’t know other families wore pajamas! Each of the five siblings were handed a notebook and pen to draw or take notes. Although simple, we knew there was something special about these practices that our parents taught throughout the years of growing up.
We decided to continue the tradition of teaching the gospel to our own children, with a vision that they will one day form their own testimonies and pass on the legacy.
One inspiration we have had to teach the gospel in our homes is to make general conference exciting. First we have the family LEARN to prepare for conference through family home evening lessons, temple attendance and seeking personal revelation. Next, we provide creative activities and fun snacks as we LISTEN to our living prophets. Finally, we encourage our families to LIVE those things we have heard through our daily actions by studying the words spoken and hastening the Lord’s work.
We hope this book will inspire and motivate parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to teach our future generation to “Grow up with Conference.”

This wasn't an easy process and we didn't know how long it would take. But, we pushed on, took pictures, created new ideas and tried to find the perfect publisher. It is now 2017 and our book has been published into an ebook through Cedar Fort Publishing. Although it is only an ebook at the moment, we hope to reach our goal and get it printed. You can purchase your copy directly for only $3.99 or on Amazon or Books and Things. We would really appreciate your support through our long journey as authors.
At the moment, we have a blog tour with a variety of bloggers who have reviewed our ebook. Here is the schedule:
