I know you are probably getting your kids to school or already have kids in school. However, I love preparing ahead of time for the upcoming holidays especially Christmas. I knit Christmas stockings year round so I feel like I celebrate Christmas all the time.
I started a tradition a year ago to read a Christmas story everyday with my kids. It was another countdown to Christmas activity and it was a hit. Each day, my son unwrapped a book and we read it together.
I recently received a new Christmas book called Goodnight Santa which I will be adding to my countdown to Christmas book collection.
The Perfect Bedtime Book!
Michelle Robinson; illustrated by Nick East
About:
Here’s a delightful bedtime book that explores all the wonderful and exciting things about Christmas. Santa’s workshop, his “list,” reindeers flying through the starry skies, gifts of every shape and size—it’s all celebrated in the pages of this colorful book. Exuberant illustrations and charming. rhyming text tell little ones all about Santa’s trek to their homes this Christmas Eve. But they had better settle down and say goodnight, because Santa Claus is on his way. A delightful, very merry look at Santa’s epic once-a-year visit that children will clamor for this holiday season, and every holiday season to come. (Ages 1-4)
In my opinion:
I absolutely love the Goodnight series and have collected each of Michelle Robinson's books. They really are the perfect bedtime book because you are teaching your child to say goodnight to everything around him/her. I loved the illustrations. They were bright, cheerful and captured the story. I loved that the story was full of rhymes. This year, I will add Goodnight to Santa to my Countdown to Christmas book activity. It is short and sweet and perfect for young families. I do wish Robinson continues to add more books to her Goodnight series because I highly enjoy reading them to my children. I definitely recommend Goodnight to Santa for any family who loves to read to their children or grandchildren.
