Wow! It was pretty powerful and it brought me "home." When I was in the MTC, the first counselor in our branch told us not to say, "Poor me." I have carried his counsel throughout my life especially during the hard times. 
The Missionary Collection consisted of four cds. I decided to start with Praise to the Man since I love songs that honor Joseph Smith. He went through so much hardship but it just made him an incredible leader. My favorite songs were Praise to the Man and We Thank Thee, O God for a Prophet. Such lovely lyrics that always bring me to tears. I also love when an album has a book with lyrics and pictures.
Then I listened to Called to Serve and it brought back so many memories of my mission to Detroit, Michigan. I'm glad I served a mission but it would be hard to go back.  I grew up singing hymns so it wasn't a surprise that I loved each song. My favorites, however, were, I'll go where you want me to go and God be with you till we meet again which have such  lovely melodies. It made me want to swing in a hammock because it was so calming.   This is the Christ was just as powerful. A couple of my favorite hymns were included: Where Can I turn for Peace and Our Savior's Love. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is so talented and I believe they are blessed through their music.   The last album was Teach me to walk in the light which featured some of children's favorites such as I am a child of God, Love one another and Tell me the stories of Jesus.   Overall, I was pretty impressed with The Missionary Collection. These four cds would be perfect for your missionary whether he/she is preparing or in the field. They bring in the spirit and will be a treasure forever.
