A fun tradition that we started in our homes is the conference bags. When one of the First Presidency or apostles speak, the family members open the bag with his matching name or picture. The excitement grows as the children try to figure out what was placed in the bag. Everything in the bag corresponds to a hobby or characteristic of the apostles. For example, we might place peanuts and gum in President Uchtdorf’s bag representing his career as a pilot (peanuts and gum are common plane snacks), or gummy worms in President Monson’s bag showing that he loves to fish. We try to change these treats around every conference to keep the kids interested. These bags are filled with treats or activities for family members to share during general conference sessions.
