Summer Must Have Products: Piggy Paint New Line of Natural, Non-Toxic Nail Polish for Women

Just like big girls, little girls love to express themselves with color, everywhere from their rooms and their clothes to their fingers and toes. And it’s common for pint-sized princesses to pine for polished, dazzling nails like Mom’s.

But traditional solvent-based, chemical-laden polishes may not be the healthiest way for the swing-set crowd to show their style. Enter Piggy Paint, a water-based, non-toxi and eco-friendly line of polishes fit for princesses and the planet. Say goodbye to harsh, smelly chemicals, and hello to natural, colorful fun.

Piggy Paint is the brainchild of Melanie Hurley, a mom of two “fancy girls” who love having their nails painted. Hurley had always hated the thought of her kids putting fingers adorned with traditional kid polishes in their mouths. Not only did the ingestion of chemicals worry her, but also the smell nearly left her light-headed each time she painted two sets of fingernails and toenails. “One day, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the foam plate we were working over,” recalls Hurley. “Shortly after, the paint had ‘eaten’ through the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could cause foam to disintegrate was unacceptable for children’s fingernails.”

The quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born. The resulting polishes are proudly made in the U.S.A. with natural ingredients. They are non-flammable and contain no formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, bisphenol A (BPA), ethylacetate or acetone. And because they are hypoallergenic, everyone can enjoy them.

It’s a product that every concerned parent can embrace with confidence, and one that’s won enthusiastic thumbs up from celebrity moms like Jessica Alba and Tori Spelling (who used Piggy Paint for Hattie’s first pedicure and the entire Piggy Paint line at her daughter Stella’s birthday party). But it’s the candy store of Piggy Paint colors that will have the kids at “hello.” From pastels to beachy brights, bold neons and glitter, there’s a paint color for every taste.

SOPHi by Piggy Paint is non-toxic, odorless, hypoallergenic, vegan and cruelty-free, and it is proudly made in the USA. It is just like the Piggy Paint used by kids, but it comes in rich, SOPHisticated colors for women. (Use Piggy Paint and SOPHi together for mommy/daughter time!)

In Emilee’s opinion:

I was given the following products to test and give my opinion.

12 fl. oz. Shampoo + Conditioner
2 oz. Texture Paste
5 oz. Curl Boost
5 oz. Flex Style Gel
8.5 fl. oz. Conditioning Detangler
8.5 fl. oz. Hairspray

Overall, I loved the smell that each one had. My daughter (almost four) who has special needs has a head full of curls so of course I was excited to test these products on her. My daughter can’t sit up without support so she is mainly on her back. The back of her head is pretty knotty. First, I used the Shampoo + Conditioner. The smell was lovely so I was impressed right away. Then I used the conditioning detangler to get out the knots. This product had a pineapple banana smell so who wouldn’t like that? I loved that the open button was easy to use and safe for my other daughter who is 23 month old. Then I used the flex style gel which said “professional quality” and “infused with essential oils & fruit extracts.” Her curls stayed in tact the entire day and I loved the green apple smell. I also used the curl boost to give an extra hold on her curls. It had an orange creamsicle smell. Each product definitely lived up to my expectations and I was quite impressed.

Before Preschool (Top) and After Preschool (Bottom) The curls are prettier than ever using these products.

I also used the Piggy Paint nail polish. I received three colors Groovy Grape, Forever Fancy and Sea-quin. There were a ton of other colors so be sure to check it out HERE. I used the Forever Fancy color and I loved it. It was such a pretty color on my toes. I recommend using the Piggy Paint Topcoat & Basecoat for improved performance. Here are a few pictures of my pretty nails and daughter, Elizabeth’s hair. I took a before Preschool photo and an after Preschool photo to show you how well her curls stayed in. I definitely recommend this product to everyone.

Disclaimer: I received one or more of the products or services for free in the hope that I would mention them on my blog and offer an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
