NCircle Summer Titles: Children DVD’s

Summer is just around the corner and you will definitely need some entertaining summer DVD’s for your kiddos. School is almost out for us (a week and a half left) so I’m glad that I have these go-to shows for my children. Here are a few favorite children’s movies that I suggest watching this summer…

The Octonauts: 12 Rescue Missions
Release Date: 05/02/2017
Dive into adventure with your favorite underwater explorers, the Octonauts! Join brave Captain Barnacles, daredevil ex-pirate, Kwazii and medic Peso Penguin, along with the other Octonauts as they explore the world’s oceans, rescue the creatures who live there and protect their habitats – above and below the waves!
On this exciting DVD, join the Octonauts as they embark on not one, not two, but TWELVE rescue missions! From attempting to dive deep into the abyssal zone to encountering a school of toothy barracudas to Barnacles seeking guidance from a mysterious sea turtle. It’s time to sound the Octo-alert!

In Emilee’s opinion:

I’ve always been a fan of Octonauts because they are super cute and they always go on fun adventures. I loved the characters and the songs stuck in my head (definitely not a terrible thing). The Octonauts also educate kids and I learned quite a lot about animals just by watching. This DVD contained 12 Rescue missions. Wow! That is a ton! You will definitely want this DVD for your kids especially if you go on a long road trip. As for me, we will be home bound since vacations are a little harder to take for our little family.
The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Camping!
Release Date: 05/16/2017

It’s the first day of Summer Vacation and The Cat in the Hat whisks Nick, Sally and Fish off on the greatest great outdoor camping adventure ever! Our gang gets back to nature as they hike through the Fickle Fern Forest, camp out overnight, trek over Mt. Weewobble and canoe down the Tickle Drop River….just in time for Fish to meet up with his family for a grand reunion. Along for the ride are Little Cats A, B and C, who discover there’s wonder in nature once their electronic devices are powered off!

Nick and Sally help keep the Little Cats out of trouble, while Fish tries to keep his jacket pressed and the mud out of his fancy fishbowl…all while getting up close to some of nature’s most awesome sights, and learning how best to respect them. After being lulled to sleep under the stars by a chorus of animals, the morning brings fresh adventure with a spectacular race up Mt. Weewobble, complete with a cliffhanger ending! It’s a slippery ride down the slope and into the Tickle Drop River, where a harrowing raft ride finally delivers them to the shores of Fish’s family reunion.

The Cat in the Hat and his loveable Little Cat cousins, Nick, Sally, Fish and all his family, gather together in a great Suessian-style musical finale… in which Fish and the gang are celebrated as true adventurers. Everyone agrees it really has been the Greatest Great Outdoors Adventure ever!

In Emilee’s opinion:
I actually liked the Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot about Camping and he did know a lot. I loved the catchy songs and I loved that it was up to date with electronics. The Cat in the Hat’s cousins went along with them and they were glued to their electronic devices. I think we will have more fun in the real world without our electronic devices. You really miss out on a lot and it is better to be with the people you love than involved in the electronic world. I also loved that the characters defined some words for kids to learn. Overall, it was educational and fun to watch.

In Emilee’s opinion:
I have to admit that I was not familiar with this cute book by Sam McBratney so when I watched the DVD, it was a complete surprise. I loved the pretty song in the beginning which was obviously sung by a child. I loved the English accent (always a sucker for those accents which is probably a reason I fell in love with my husband). I watched the first episode, Summer Days. Little Nut Brown and friends were trying to figure out what they could do after they swam. I loved that Big Nut Brown gave them suggestions. He suggested that they collect pebbles and skip them across the water, sit quietly and listen to the sounds, watch the sky and find objects out of the clouds, watch turtles, etc etc. I loved that they used their imagination and had quality time together in the summer. This DVD was a great educational tool and I definitely recommend it to all families.
