“Happy Holidays Garfield” and “Wild Kratts: Wild Winter Creatures” DVD

Since the holidays are coming up I’m excited to introduce two new titles perfect for children. They are

Happy Holidays Garfield and Wild Kratts: Wild Winter Creatures. I grew up with Garfield and have come to love the Wild Kratts. Both of these DVDs are perfect for when you are stuck inside. All you need is a blanket, hot cocoa and your kids.

CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR WITH THE NEW DVD “HAPPY HOLIDAYS GARFIELD”

Available from Public Media Distribution – September 12, 2017

Arlington, Va. – August 29, 2017 – Kids and parents can join Garfield, the quick-witted orange tabby that loves lasagna, coffee, and his remote control, this holiday season as he celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas in “HAPPY HOLIDAYS GARFIELD.”

“HAPPY HOLIDAYS GARFIELD” ($6.99 SRP) will be available on DVD September 12, 2017 and has a run time of approximately 50 minutes. This special will also be available for digital download.

The DVD features these two fun-filled holiday episodes:

“Garfield’s Thanksgiving”
Jon Arbuckle invites veterinarian Liz to celebrate Thanksgiving with him, Garfield, and Odie! But Jon has no clue how to prepare a Thanksgiving meal and even worse—Liz declares that Garfield must be put on a diet… on the day before Thanksgiving! Will anyone come to the rescue and cook a delicious dinner for Jon and Liz?

“A Garfield Christmas Special”
Garfield gives Grandma love notes he found that were written by her husband, from when they first met. That thoughtful gift shows Garfield that Christmas isn’t about eating lasagna or receiving presents—it’s about spending time with your family and making others happy!

In Emilee’s opinion:

This DVD only had two episodes which was actually a perfect amount of time for us. The first episode was about Thanksgiving which was hilarious because after Jon invited Liz to celebrate Thanksgiving with them, she puts Garfield on a strict diet. I love that Garfield is always talking but no one can ever hear him. I grew up with Garfield and I thought the voice was a tad bit different but Garfield’s personality was the same which I loved. The second episode was about Christmas. I loved Garfield’s relationship with Grandma. It felt like they understood one another. I loved how the episode was about thoughtful gifts and spending quality time with family. Both episodes were delightful and fun to watch with my kids.

WILD KRATTS transforms the Kratt Brothers, creators of the award-winning “Kratts’ Creatures” and Emmy-winning “Zoboomafoo,” into animated versions of themselves, allowing the real-life zoologists to visit wild animals in their little-seen habitats and showcase key science concepts along the way. From elephants using physics to suck gallons of water with their trunks to a fleet of peregrine falcons that harness the force of gravity to speed through the air, each episode of WILD KRATTS presents age-appropriate science inspired by the natural abilities of the animals that the Kratt Brothers – and young viewers – meet. WILD KRATTS airs daily on PBS KIDS (check local listings).

In Emilee’s opinion:

I can’t tell you how much I loved watching Wild Kratts: Wild Winter Creatures. It was very entertaining and educational. The DVD included four different episodes about arctic animals including polar bears. It was fascinating and adventurous. Martin and Chris encounter the evil Zach Varmitech who kidnaps a few baby animals. Were they able to rescue the polar bear and walrus calf? Will they receive help from their team? Things always seem to turn out for Martin and Chris so it made me smile when love conquers hate. This DVD would be a perfect addition to your collection especially this winter season. I definitely recommend it.
