General Conference Teaching Helps: Fourth Floor, Last Door by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf + FREE Printable

I recently joined a group of bloggers on Facebook to discuss different General Conference talks. We decided to create lessons based on specific talks we heard from the most recent General Conference. I chose President Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s talk from the General Women’s Session titled, “Fourth Floor, Last Door.” This talk spoke to me when he said…

Dieter F. Uchtdorf tells us about the women who have been influential in his life. Then he goes on to say, “Perhaps what humbles me most is to know that the same influence is replicated millions of times throughout the Church through the abilities, talents, intelligence, and testimony of women of faith like you.”

Discussion Questions:

Who is influential in your life?

What talents do they possess?

Are they women of faith?

Do you consider yourself to be a woman of faith?

What are the 3 components of becoming women of faith?

1. Understanding what faith is Faith is a strong conviction about something we believe-a conviction so strong that it moves us to do things that we otherwise might not do. “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

2. Learning about the power and limits of faith Faith is powerful, and often it does result in miracles. But no matter how much faith we have, there are two things faith cannot do. For one, it cannot violate another person’s agency. Second, faith cannot force our will upon God. We cannot force God to comply with our desires-no matter how right we think we are or how sincerely we pray.

3. What we must do to activate the power of faith in our lives The purpose of faith is to empower us to act on God’s will. Trust that God sees what we cannot and that He knows what we do not. In the end everything will make sense. “All things will work together for good to them that love God.” All will be made right. All will be well.

Name women of faith who have been influential in your life. Go to our FREE PRINTABLE section and print these thank you cards to pass out to those women who have made an impact in your life. Thank them for a job well done. Add flowers, chocolate or the quote by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. Add your personal thoughts to the back of the thank you card and deliver. I know I love to hear positive words of affirmation.

Check out the NEW bookmark I created to go along with Uchtdorf’s talk…

Also, be sure to study each General Conference talk and take your own notes with these adorable printables. Find them in the FREE PRINTABLE section of the website.
